Woman Threatened 'Kiss the Devil' Before Murdering Ex-Boyfriend in Brazil
Woman kills ex-boyfriend after 'kiss the devil' threat

A young woman in Brazil has been accused of a brutal double murder, deliberately running over her ex-boyfriend and his friend on a scooter after sending him a series of chilling threats, including telling him to "kiss the devil".

A Jealous Rage Turns Deadly

Geovanna Proque da Silva, 21, is alleged to have killed Raphael Canuto da Costa, 21, and Joyce Correa da Silva, 19, in the early hours of December 28 in the Parque Regina area of Sao Paulo. The horrific incident, captured on CCTV, occurred on Rua Professor Leitão da Cunha around 3am.

Police state the attack was motivated by jealousy following the end of Silva's brief one-month relationship with Costa. According to authorities, she intentionally drove her car into the rear of the scooter the two men were travelling on, throwing them from the vehicle. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Chilling Threats Preceded the Attack

The violence was reportedly preceded by a series of explicit threats. A day before the killing, on December 27, Silva, while at a barbecue, allegedly confronted Costa and told him: "If I go there, this steak knife will cut your throat."

She then followed up with a string of angry text messages. In one, police allege she wrote: "I'm tired of being alone. Hell. Funny how before, no amount of rushing around would stop you from replying to me. Do you hate me?" This was followed by another which stated: "Go kiss the devil. I'm pissed."

In the early hours of the day of the murder, she allegedly sent further threats to people at a party, including female friends of Costa with whom he had no romantic involvement, vowing to remove them from the venue "one way or another".

High-Speed Chase and Psychiatric History

Silva's stepmother, Dr Gabrielle Schneid de Pinho, provided context to the tragedy. She revealed that Silva has "psychiatric disorders" and uses medication for "depression and bipolar disorder". She also described "relationship problems" between Silva and Costa, fuelled by "betrayals and jealousy".

On the fateful night, Dr Pinho was in the car with her stepdaughter. She claims they had followed Costa to his home after Silva suspected other women were there. After Costa later left on his scooter with his friend, Silva allegedly began "chasing Raphael at high speed".

"From the moment Geovanna started chasing Raphael at high speed, I repeatedly asked her to stop the car," Dr Pinho stated. "Geovanna didn't say anything and just drove behind Raphael."

In a final shocking twist, witnesses claim that after the collision, the veterinary student told people at the scene: "Go help your friend and the slut I just killed."

Geovanna Proque da Silva is now being held in pretrial detention, charged with the murders of her ex-boyfriend and his friend.
