The family of Leanne Park have paid tribute to the mother after she was found dead at an address in Darlington. Emergency services attended a property in Parkgate at about 9.15pm on Wednesday, September 23, where the woman was sadly declared deceased.
Family's heartfelt tribute
In a statement, her family said: "Leanne was just the best mam, nana, daughter and friend we could wish for. She was loved by everyone and would do anything for anyone. She was the life and soul of the party and loved to dance."
They added: "We love her so much and miss her more than words can describe. We are completely devastated. Her death has ripped the heart out of our family."
Floral tributes and messages
Leanne's family, who are being supported by specialist family liaison officers, continued: "We are grateful for all the kind messages and the support since her death. We ask that everyone remembers her for the kind-hearted woman she was."
Earlier this week floral tributes were placed outside the Greyhound pub following her death. Tributes have been paid both across social media and on notes accompanying bouquets left outside the establishment.
One message states: "To our beautiful, funny, kind-hearted, wonderful Leanne. I'm so heartbroken you are gone. Thank you for everything." Another expressed: "To Leanne, taken far too soon. Will never be forgotten."
Investigation ongoing
An investigation is ongoing, and a 44-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody. A 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail. Specialist crime scene investigators are continuing to examine the scene. A cordon is in place and is expected to remain for some time.
