Doorstep Acid Attacker Set for Release
William 'Basil' Burns, who threw sulphuric acid in the face of journalist Russell Findlay in December 2015, is set to be released from prison this week. Burns, disguised as a postman, attacked Findlay on the doorstep of his Glasgow home. He was convicted in 2017 of assault to the danger of life and sentenced to 15 years.
Blood-Soaked Killer Confessed at Pub
Lee Greenan, 46, walked into the Mid Yoken pub in Edinburgh covered in blood after killing his ex-partner, beauty business owner Vikki Soloman, 44. He told customers he had murdered her. A local described the scene as 'like something out of a movie.' Greenan was arrested and charged, but the Scottish Prison Service confirmed he was found dead at HMP Edinburgh, having died by suicide.
