Chiefs' Rashee Rice Faces Domestic Violence Claims as Kelce's Praise Resurfaces
Rashee Rice Domestic Violence Claims Emerge

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is embroiled in serious domestic violence allegations made by the mother of his two children, casting a shadow over his NFL career just months after returning from a suspension for a multi-car crash.

Graphic Allegations Surface on Social Media

On Wednesday, Dacoda Jones uploaded a detailed statement and 14 photographs to her Instagram account. The images reportedly showed visible cuts and bruises on her body, alongside pictures of her home in disarray and personal clothing items ripped apart. While she did not explicitly name Rice, the accusations were clearly directed at the Chiefs player.

In her emotional post, which began with a content warning, Jones claimed she had endured abuse for years during their eight-year relationship. She alleged instances of physical assault while pregnant, being locked outside in freezing weather, and having her possessions destroyed. Jones also accused the unnamed individual of being "very controlling" and failing to support their children financially and emotionally after their recent breakup.

Chiefs and NFL Respond as Past Support is Recalled

The Kansas City Chiefs organisation swiftly acknowledged the situation, issuing a statement confirming they were "aware of the allegations on social media" and were "in communication with the National Football League." They declined to comment further at the time.

Following the allegations, fans and media quickly revisited past comments made by Rice's high-profile teammate, Travis Kelce. In October of last year, as Rice neared the end of a six-game NFL suspension related to a Dallas highway crash, Kelce offered strong public support. Kelce described Rice as "such a good dude" and "one of my favourite people," praising his work ethic, generosity, and character.

The team's solidarity was previously demonstrated when Kelce and other Chiefs players warmed up in 'Free 4' t-shirts—Rice's jersey number—before a game during his suspension.

A Troubled Legal History for the NFL Star

These latest allegations add to a growing list of off-field controversies for the 24-year-old receiver. In May 2024, Rice was involved in a high-speed, multi-vehicle crash in Dallas while racing a friend in a Lamborghini. He was filmed fleeing the scene and later pleaded guilty to two felony charges.

In July 2025, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail, five years' probation, and ordered to pay over $115,000 in restitution to victims. The NFL subsequently suspended him for six games.

Responding to the domestic violence claims, Rice's grandmother has denied the allegations to TMZ, suggesting they stemmed from a dispute over apartment payments. Meanwhile, Jones's post has garnered support from partners of other NFL players, including Chariah Gordon and Sheawna Weathersby. The NFL is likely to conduct its own investigation under its personal conduct policy, which could lead to further disciplinary action against Rice.
