Mum Pleads for Daughter, 23, Facing Firing Squad in Dubai Murder Case
Mum Pleads for Daughter Facing Firing Squad in Dubai

Tess George, a mother from Gravesend, Kent, is desperately pleading for international assistance to save her 23-year-old daughter Brooke, who faces the death penalty in Dubai after being charged with murder. Brooke was arrested on June 22, 2026, following the stabbing death of her boyfriend, a man she met online and had been in a relationship with since April. According to Tess, Brooke acted in self-defense during a confrontation at the man's apartment.

Daughter's Terrified Calls Before Arrest

Tess revealed that her daughter called her sobbing and terrified about her boyfriend days before the incident. Brooke expressed fear and a desire to return home to the UK. She went to retrieve her passport from his apartment, hoping to flee the country. However, tensions escalated, leading to a fatal stabbing. Brooke was arrested at the airport after staff noticed injuries on her.

Harsh Conditions and Lack of Legal Access

Brooke has been held for over a week at the Bur Dubai Police Station, crammed into a cell with ten other women. She has not had access to a lawyer or a translator and does not speak Arabic. Tess claims her daughter was strip-searched in front of five male officers, some of whom allegedly filmed the process. The family is working with charities to secure legal representation and consular support.

Mother's Emotional Plea

“I have to try. Don’t make my little girl face the firing squad,” Tess said, describing her daughter as “petrified” and “absolutely terrified.” She added, “I’ve never seen anyone like that. Not just my daughter.” If convicted, Brooke could face execution by firing squad or life imprisonment without parole.
