Two men have been arrested in connection with a hate-motivated attack on a mother and daughter, including a disabled child, in Manchester city centre. The incident occurred on Market Street and St Ann's Square, where the victims were subjected to derogatory comments and physical violence.
The group included a five-month-old baby, a three-year-old girl, and a ten-year-old girl with severe disabilities who was in a wheelchair. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the suspects are being held on suspicion of assault and a hate-motivated public order offence.
Inspector Jon Middleton condemned the attack as 'utterly despicable,' adding: 'No one should ever be treated like this and we will continue to make Manchester a safe and enjoyable city to live in and visit.'
