Damon Foy, 50, has admitted to killing his ex-girlfriend Alberta Dale, 40, and keeping her severed head in a suitcase with a flower inside it. The admission came during a police search of his residence in Kerhonkson, New York, when he told officers the woman's body was in a suitcase.
Discovery of Remains
Dale was reported missing in April 2024. Prosecutors believe Foy killed her sometime between March 31 and April 1, 2024. During a police search at Foy's apartment, investigators found Dale's remains in a suitcase on the floor. Officers "immediately noticed what appeared to be dried blood" on it, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors added: "Officers opened the defendant's suitcase and found Alberta Dale's partial dismembered remains, including her severed head." "The remaining portions of her dismembered body were not located during the execution of the search warrant."
Evidence and Statements
During the search, officers found bone and tissue fragments throughout Foy's apartment, as well as pruning shears, a serrated knife, and an axe. Prosecutors believe Dale had ended the relationship with Foy. Court filings state the woman told a crime victims unit that "if she went missing it was because [Foy] killed her."
According to court filings reviewed by Law&Crime, Foy told police "I loved her." He added: "The only thing she kept doing after the time throughout the whole relationship was just play me, play me like a fool, play me like a sucker, and just took advantage of the whole f—ing system."
Foy is due to appear in court to be sentenced on December 16.
