YouTube star and Britain's Got Talent judge KSI has faced backlash after a resurfaced video showed him making a joke about hitting a pregnant woman. The clip, which has since been taken down, was viewed over 15 million times.
In the video, KSI's mother advised him to always wear a condom. He responded, “If she gets pregnant I’ll just punch the baby.” After his mother objected, he laughed and said he was kidding.
Veronica Oakeshott of Women's Aid criticised the comment, stating: “Comments like this are never acceptable to make, even if it is meant as a joke. It’s a sad truth that pregnant women are even more likely than other women to experience domestic abuse.”
A source close to KSI said he regrets the “stupid and wrong” remark, noting that the video dates back nearly a decade and that he has since matured. This is not the first controversy for KSI; in 2023 he apologised for using a racial slur against people of South Asian origin.
