Mother's 999 Call Leads to Murder Conviction of Son

A 19-year-old man has been found guilty of murdering a teenager in a quiet Somerset town. Joshua Delbono stabbed 16-year-old Charley Bates in Radstock on 31 July last year.

Delbono's mother made a 999 call to police, informing them that her son had killed Charley. The call led to Delbono's arrest and subsequent trial.

The court heard that the attack was unprovoked and occurred in a residential area. Charley Bates died from a single stab wound.
