Former gangster John Gizzi has admitted attacking two sisters, including using coercive and controlling behaviour and intentional strangulation.
Gizzi, 55, of Cwttir Lane, St Asaph, Denbighshire, had been due to face trial this week over five charges but admitted three on the day.
Charges admitted
He pleaded guilty to using coercive and controlling behaviour against Natasha Farah between March 1, 2025 and April 8, 2026. He also admitted failing to disclose a mobile phone's PIN to police on April 27, 2026.
Gizzi further admitted intentional strangulation against Natasha's sister, Samantha Farah, on April 3 this year.
Court details
Dressed in a light grey jumper and trousers in the glass-fronted dock, Gizzi admitted repeatedly assaulting Natasha, with whom he was in an intimate relationship. He is also said to have controlled the clothes she wore.
Gizzi will be sentenced on November 12. The judge, His Honour Simon Mills, told Gizzi he had already given him an indication of the length of his likely prison sentence.
Police response
In a statement, Detective Superintendent Andrew Gibson said: "Violence against women and girls is a priority for the force and [yesterday's] guilty plea reflects that commitment to relentlessly pursue offenders and bring those guilty of such abhorrent crimes to justice."
Gizzi was sentenced to 11 years in jail in 2011 for conspiracy to supply cocaine. He was jailed for five-and-a-half years in 2006 for assault and cigarette smuggling and was later ordered to pay back £2.6m.
