Celebrity dentist Dr Surinder Hundle, known for his appearance on Channel 4's 10 Years Younger, has admitted to having an affair with a patient but denied that they had sex in his London clinic. The General Dental Council is considering whether to strike him off.
At a disciplinary hearing, Dr Hundle, 44, said the relationship began after the death of his twin babies, who were born prematurely in 2005. The woman, referred to as Patient A, texted him expressing sympathy, and he described her as “a good listener” who provided support during a difficult time.
Dr Hundle acknowledged that his behaviour was inappropriate but rejected claims that it constituted an abuse of his professional role. He also denied making inappropriate remarks such as “I wonder what it would be like to kiss that mouth?” or “I bet you have a great sex life” while treating the woman.
The woman, whom he treated at the Lund Osler clinic in Knightsbridge, claimed the couple had sex at least 30 times between 2006 and 2008. Dr Hundle said they met at his home after she texted that she would “always be there”. He later told her they should stop seeing each other, but she insisted there was no problem.
Dr Hundle, who married in 2002 but is now divorced, said that in hindsight he “wasn’t thinking”. The hearing continues.
