Jill Biden's Ex-Husband's Wife Found Dead in Delaware Home After Domestic Dispute Call
Death of Jill Biden's ex-husband's wife investigated as possible crime

The death of a woman married to Jill Biden's former husband is being investigated as a possible crime after police discovered her body following a late-night domestic disturbance call.

A Late-Night Call and a Tragic Discovery

Linda Stevenson, aged 64, was pronounced dead at the scene after officers from the New Castle County Police Department responded to a call at her Oak Hill, Delaware, residence around 11:16 pm on Sunday. The home was shared with her husband, Bill Stevenson, who was married to the current First Lady, Jill Biden, between 1970 and 1975.

Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Stevenson was found unresponsive in the living room. While initial audio from the 911 call suggested a cardiac arrest, the sheriff's office confirmed the case is being handled as a potential crime. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit have taken over the inquiry.

Family Claims and Official Investigation

The victim's daughter, Christina Vettori, described her mother's death as "murder" during a brief telephone conversation. "It's still a murder investigation," Vettori stated, before declining to comment further. However, authorities have been more measured in their public statements.

A spokesperson for the New Castle County Sheriff's Office, when asked about Vettori's claim, clarified the official position, stating: "No, it is a death investigation." Investigators have not released details about the nature of the domestic dispute call or identified any individuals involved. No charges have been filed at this time.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the exact cause of Linda Stevenson's death.

Historical Connections to the First Family

The case has drawn attention due to Bill Stevenson's past marriage to Jill Biden. In previous interviews, Bill Stevenson claimed his marriage to Jill Biden ended because she began a relationship with Joe Biden while they were still married in 1975.

He recounted becoming suspicious after a friend suggested Jill and the future President were "getting a little too close." Stevenson said he asked Jill to leave their home after his suspicions were confirmed. The couple divorced in May 1975.

Despite the past, Bill Stevenson had spoken fondly of his later life with Linda. He once told the Daily Mail, "If it wasn't for my divorce, I would never have met my wife Linda and she's the greatest thing in my life." Linda Stevenson is survived by her husband and her 45-year-old daughter, Christina.

The investigation into her sudden death continues, with police treating it as a possible criminal matter while awaiting conclusive forensic results.
