Champion Horsewoman Dies in Tragic Holiday Park Accident

A decorated horsewoman and devoted mother-of-two met a tragic end while celebrating her 11th wedding anniversary at a luxury holiday park, a coroner's court has heard.

Claire Chambers, 50, a highly respected figure in the equestrian community from Cheshire, was found deceased in what authorities have described as a "tragic accident" at Tyddyn Stables Holiday Park in North Wales on July 11th, 2023.

The inquest at Caernarfon heard harrowing details of how Mrs. Chambers became trapped in an unexpected manner while the family was preparing to depart from their holiday accommodation.

Her husband of eleven years, Stuart Chambers, discovered the scene after becoming concerned when she failed to return from gathering their belongings from an upstairs area.

Despite immediate efforts from her husband and rapid response from emergency services, including air ambulance paramedics, Mrs. Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kate Robertson, the assistant coroner for North West Wales, recorded a conclusion of accidental death, stating there was "no evidence of third-party involvement or any intention of self-harm."

Mrs. Chambers was a renowned competitor in side-saddle events, known for her skill and passion for horses. The equestrian community and her local area have been left devastated by the loss of such a vibrant and accomplished individual.

The family has requested privacy as they continue to grieve this profound and unexpected loss.
