Adam Ramsay-Peaty could face new complications as police continue to investigate allegations of harassment made against his brother, James. According to the Metro, the swimmer's sister, Bethany, has withdrawn her witness statement after James was accused of sending threatening texts to Adam while he was abroad in Hungary for his stag.
Incident in November
The incident in question took place in November, just weeks before the Olympian tied the knot with Holly Ramsay, who is now pregnant with their first child. At the time, a spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We arrested a 34-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, on November 11, 2025, on suspicion of harassment. The man was released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue."
Family feud context
James allegedly harassed his brother amid the ongoing Peaty family feud. A rift which erupted in the run-up to Adam and Holly's star-studded wedding, the Peatys reportedly felt left out of the festivities, including Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton.
In response to the incident, the pair's father, Mark Peaty, told The Sun: "They're brothers. They've always been close, but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, make up, and start all over again. But it has got out of hand. There's been very little empathy towards Jamie's genuine mental health difficulties."
Reconciliation remarks
Following James' arrest, Adam appears to have ceased contact with his brother, who was absent from his wedding, as was their mother, Caroline. The only member of the Peaty family who remained in attendance at the ceremony was Adam's sister, Bethany.
More recently, the 31-year-old reflected on the rift with his family in a new interview with The Guardian. Asked if a reconciliation was in store, Adam said, "For me, as a Christian, there has to be forgiveness. It doesn't mean you have to forget, but forgiveness takes time.
"I'm not saying that it won't get better, but it has to come from a place where I feel like they've improved as people, in a sense, and opened that communication up. I haven't told the media one thing. I haven't done one story over the last eight months and more."
