£20k reward in hunt for missing mum Nazire Koreli

A reward of up to £20,000 is being offered for information that could help the investigation into the disappearance of Nazire Koreli, 56, who vanished near her home in Welling, South East London in September 2024. She was reported missing by her family several weeks later.

Police search and arrest

The unexplained disappearance prompted a large police search. Detectives searched her home, reviewed "hundreds of hours of CCTV footage", and specialist divers explored a nearby lake – all without finding any trace of Nazire.

A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of Nazire's murder on March 10, 2025. He was later released on bail, and police describe enquiries as "ongoing".

Family's heartbreak

In a new appeal, Nazire's daughter spoke of her heartbreak. She said: "To know my mum is to know that she is creative, loves going to concerts, cooking for her family, teaching her students, and above all, loves me and my younger sister, her ‘girls’."

She added: "Mum raised me to be strong, determined and driven. That strength is how I have been able to deal with this heartbreak; determination is what is pushing me to find the answers we as a family so desperately need, the drive keeps me moving forward."

"Since my mum went missing, I have become a mother myself and I don’t know if I will ever accept that they may never meet. My daughter is about to turn two. Two years of a relationship my mother has missed out on, two years of not knowing the most brilliant little girl."

Reward and appeal

The reward of up to £20,000 is being offered by Crimestoppers for information that could help the investigation.

Nazire's daughter concluded: "I need to know where my mum is. I need answers."
