A 90-year-old woman has died in a house fire in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire, and a woman in her 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and arson.
Emergency response
Emergency services were called to Elmgrove Road West in Hardwicke shortly before 4am on Sunday after reports of a fire. A woman in her 90s was found unconscious inside the property and later pronounced dead.
Arrest and investigation
A woman in her 60s, from Gloucester, was arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life. She remains in police custody for questioning. The women knew each other, and police said the incident is believed to have been isolated.
