An inquest into the death of 23-year-old Amelia Mogridge has heard that she was found dead in her Swansea flat holding a vape in her hand. The hearing, opened at Swansea Guildhall on Tuesday morning, was told that no medical cause of death has yet been determined.
Discovery of the Body
Amelia Mogridge, originally from Oswestry, lived at Kilvey Terrace in Swansea. She died on June 19. The inquest heard that her flatmate became concerned after not seeing or hearing from her for several hours. It was normal for Miss Mogridge to spend time in her bedroom, and she was last seen by her flatmate at around 6pm on Thursday, June 18.
By 2pm the following day, Miss Mogridge had still not come out of her room. The flatmate entered and found the 23-year-old fully clothed and unconscious on the bed. She was holding a vape in her hand, and a laptop was left open nearby with a typed written document on the screen.
Post-Mortem and Adjournment
Senior coroner for Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot, Aled Gruffydd, was told that a post-mortem had taken place, but the medical cause of death "is yet to be ascertained." The inquest was adjourned, and a full hearing is set to take place at a later date.
