Unexplained Death of Elderly Man Probed in Birmingham

Police are investigating the 'unexplained' death of a 'lovely old man' at a property in Birmingham. Emergency services rushed to Roundlea Road, in the Northfield area, shortly after 11.15am on Monday. The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police said the death was being treated as 'unexplained' and officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the cause. A resident told Birmingham Live: 'He was a lovely old man, who would speak to everyone. We saw the private ambulance outside his house. It's so sad.'

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: 'We were called at just after 11.15am today (Monday), to reports of a man’s body at a property in Roundlea Road, Birmingham. The death is currently being treated as unexplained, and we are carrying out further enquiries.'

Ambulance Service Response

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: 'We were called to an incident at an address near to Lockwood Lane in Northfield, Birmingham, at 11.12am. We sent an ambulance and a Community First Responder to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.'

The community has been left shocked by the sudden loss. Neighbors described the man as a friendly and sociable individual who would always stop to chat. Police have urged anyone with information to come forward as they continue their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death.
