Two men have been charged over the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man in south London. The Metropolitan Police launched a murder investigation after the incident on Saturday, July 25.
Police were called shortly after 4:30am following reports of a man attending hospital with a stab wound. The victim died in hospital despite the efforts of medics. His next-of-kin is being supported by specialist officers.
Incident Details
Detectives established that the stabbing occurred on Tremadoc Road in Clapham. Six men were initially arrested on suspicion of murder.
Two men have since been charged: Javed Khan, 22, of Maskell Road, Wandsworth, charged with murder and violent disorder; and Adonay Berhan, 27, of Mason’s Avenue, Croydon, charged with assisting an offender. Both were set to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Monday morning.
Other Arrests
Police said a 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody. He had received hospital treatment for injuries that were neither life-threatening nor life-changing and has since been discharged.
Three other men – two aged 22 and one aged 24 – who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released with no further action.
