Two individuals have been arrested following a frightening disturbance in Paisley that left a woman and a dog requiring medical attention. Emergency services rushed to George Street in the Renfrewshire town on Tuesday afternoon after receiving reports of a disturbance at approximately 2:35pm.

Incident Details

Upon arrival, a 40-year-old woman was transported to the hospital for treatment, while a dog was taken to a veterinarian for care. Police have since arrested a 49-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Scene Cordoned Off

Images from the scene show George Street cordoned off by police tape, with officers standing guard as multiple police cars and ambulances filled the area. A local resident reported seeing approximately 12 police vehicles on George Street and Barr Place, along with police vans, a sprinter van, ambulances, and a rapid response vehicle. They noted that a large police cordon was set up around an apartment block, and an ambulance left with lights and sirens, followed by a police car.

A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Around 2.35pm on Tuesday, 9 June, we received a report of a disturbance in the George Street area of Paisley. A 40-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment. A dog was taken to a vet for treatment. A 49-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man have been arrested in connection, and enquiries are ongoing.”

The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the disturbance.
