Justin Riddell, an 18-year-old from Northumberland, died on Saturday, June 20, after his motorcycle collided with a skip in the road in Nedderton Village, near Bedlington. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.
Family's Heartfelt Tribute
In a statement released through Northumbria Police, Justin's family said: 'Justin was one of life's true characters. He had a heart of gold, a smile that lit up every room and a personality that people were naturally drawn to.' They added that he was a loyal friend who would do anything for anyone and had an incredible work ethic.
Justin had recently completed his joinery studies and was excited to begin full-time work in the trade he loved. He also worked at his local pub, where customers and colleagues adored him for remembering everyone's favourite drink and always making time for a chat.
Passion for Motorcycles
Justin had a passion for motorbikes and always wore proper protective gear, riding with care and respect. 'Riding brought him so much happiness,' his family said. 'Our hearts are completely broken. A life full of promise has been taken far too soon.'
Police Investigation and Appeal
Northumbria Police has launched an investigation into the collision. Sergeant Andy McNally of the Road Policing team said: 'Our thoughts remain with Justin’s family and loved ones. This is a tragic case, where sadly a young person has lost his life. Our enquiries are ongoing.'
