Three individuals—a man, a woman, and a child—have tragically lost their lives after falling from a high-rise residential block in south London. The incident occurred at a flat complex on Churchyard Row in Elephant and Castle, with emergency services receiving reports at 7:29 am on Wednesday, May 27.

Emergency Response

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that upon arrival, officers and paramedics found the three victims, who had sustained fatal injuries from the fall. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts by emergency personnel, all three were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other reported injuries.

A spokesperson for the Met Police stated: "Work is under way to formally identify those who died. Their next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. Detectives are urging any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward by calling 101, quoting CAD 1613/27MAY."

Ambulance Service Details

The London Ambulance Service provided further details of their response. A spokesperson said: "We were called at 7:31 am on Wednesday, May 27, to reports of an incident on Churchyard Row, SE11. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Our first paramedic arrived in approximately four minutes. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, three people were pronounced dead at the scene."

The deaths are being treated as unexpected, and the Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall. Authorities are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with pertinent information to assist with the inquiry.
