Teen Motorcyclist Dies in Crash, Murder Charge Filed

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of an 18-year-old motorcyclist in Whitstable. Harley Seal was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision on Chestfield Road, outside the Chestfield Barn pub, on July 24 at around 8:15pm.

Collision with Mercedes

Police said Harley was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in a crash with a white Mercedes A180. He died at the scene.

An 18-year-old man voluntarily attended Canterbury police station at 9:50pm on the night of the crash and was arrested. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Suspect Charged

The following day, a 19-year-old man also went to Canterbury police station and was arrested. Connor Todd, of Portlight Place, Seasalter, has since been charged with murder and appeared before Margate Magistrates' Court on Monday (July 27). He is due to attend a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday (July 29).

Police Appeal

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries to establish the circumstances are ongoing and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage of either vehicle before or after the collision to come forward."
