An attempted murder investigation has been launched in Salford after a man fell from a balcony at a block of flats on Liverpool Street in Langworthy. The victim is now in hospital with life-threatening injuries and is in a critical condition.
Arrest and police cordon
Police have cordoned off the area and erected a blue forensics tent on the pavement. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Footage posted on social media shows a man being led to a police van in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police statement and appeal
Chief Inspector Lee Gridley from GMP's Salford district said: "We understand that incidents of this nature may cause concern within the community; however, we believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public."
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward to assist with their investigation.
