Reality TV star denies murdering boyfriend after body found

Tamika Chesser, a reality TV star who appeared on Beauty and the Geek, has denied killing her boyfriend after his dismembered body was discovered inside the home they shared. The 35-year-old pleaded not guilty at Adelaide Magistrates Court on 11 August.

Body found after fire

Julian Story, 39, was found dismembered at the couple's home in Port Lincoln, on the Eyre Peninsula in Australia, after emergency services responded to reports of a fire. His head was later found by a member of the public in July 2025 and confirmed to belong to Julian two months later.

Mental health defence flagged

Chesser, arrested on 17 June last year, denied murdering Julian and destroying his remains to pervert the course of justice. According to ABC News, she has flagged a potential mental health defence. Her lawyer told the court that investigations into her mental competence were underway.

Held in psychiatric facility

Chesser has been held at the James Nash House secure psychiatric facility since her arrest. She gave birth to a child while in custody in March this year; the identity of the child's father has not been made public.

Chesser appeared on Beauty and the Geek in 2010, a reality TV show created by actor Ashton Kutcher that pairs outgoing individuals with introverted intellectuals. Following her not guilty pleas, she is due to appear in the Supreme Court for arraignment later this year. The case is ongoing.
