Irish police believe a person of interest in the murder of an American mother in County Kerry left the country before her body was discovered. An Garda Síochána has stated it is working with international law enforcement partners in the investigation.

Body Found in Killarney Home

The body of Jamey Carney, aged in her 40s, was found at a home on Muckross Road in Killarney on Tuesday. The discovery prompted a murder investigation by the Irish police service.

On Thursday, investigators announced they were “satisfied that a person of interest in this investigation left the jurisdiction in the early hours of Tuesday,” prior to the body being discovered and reported to police.
