Murder Trial Resumes: Man Accused of Killing Wife in Bedroom
Murder Trial Resumes for Man Accused of Killing Wife

The trial of a man accused of murdering his wife in their bedroom has resumed on Monday at Newport Crown Court. Michael Davies, 57, is charged with murdering Tracey Davies, 48, at their home on Bryn Terrace, Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend.

Davies denies murder but admits to killing Tracey on April 18 last year. He told police he strangled her between 7:30am and 8am that morning.

The court has heard details from Davies' police interview, where he described the killing. He said: "I loved her to bits but I didn’t seem to have any understanding over my hands. I’m not sure what I was even doing. I just wanted to keep strangling her."

At the start of the trial, the jury heard that Tracey was found by worried relatives who entered the house after she failed to attend her daughter's concert.

The sixth day of the trial is expected to proceed at Newport Crown Court.
