Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 40s was found dead in a caravan parked in a lay-by on Derby Road, Loughborough. The discovery was made on Monday, July 6, at around 11:40 pm, following a report of a sudden death.
Arrest Made in Connection with Death
East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead at the location. A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. The victim is believed to have been involved in a confrontation in the days leading up to his death, according to Leicestershire Live.
Police Investigation Underway
Detective Inspector Mike Chandler, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), is leading the investigation. He stated: "I've got a dedicated team of officers working to understand what's happened in this altercation and the events that led to the death of this man."
