Dyfed-Powys Police have launched a murder investigation more than 35 years after the death of an elderly man in west Wales.
Bentley Mathias, who was 92, died in November 1991 at Morriston Hospital. His cause of death was recorded as a brain haemorrhage, but new information has led police to begin a murder enquiry.
Arrest made in Llanddewi Velfrey
On Wednesday, a large police presence was seen in the Llanddewi Velfrey area of Pembrokeshire. It has now been confirmed that a 67-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 92-year-old man in 1991.
"On Wednesday, July 22, officers arrested a 67-year-old man from the Llanddewi Velfrey area of Pembrokeshire on suspicion of murder. He has been bailed while police continue with their enquiries.
"Following this arrest, officers are not looking for anyone else in relation to this matter, and the investigation is ongoing."
