Missing man's body found in woodland; death unexplained

The body of a missing man was found in a woodland in Buckinghamshire on Saturday evening. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the body is believed to be that of 50-year-old Joseph, also known as Joe. He was last seen near Well Street in Buckingham at about 8am on Saturday, August 15. His family has been informed, and Thames Valley Police said the death is being treated as "unexplained but not suspicious."

Discovery in Shenley Wood

His body was found in Shenley Wood, an ancient woodland park in the western part of Milton Keynes. It is one of the few ancient woodlands in Milton Keynes mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and it is a protected 24-hectare forest managed by The Parks Trust.

Police appeal and response

After he went missing, Thames Valley Police launched a missing-person appeal, asking anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV, or information about his whereabouts to contact them immediately. A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "His family has been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time. The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the Buckinghamshire Coroner."
