Inspector Jason Wu, 50, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where he denied two counts of rape and one of grievous bodily harm with intent. The alleged offences were against a woman in 2019 and 2021.
Court Proceedings
Wu, who works in the force’s detention section based in Colindale, north-west London, indicated not guilty pleas to all charges during the brief hearing. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
Case Transferred
The case was sent to Kingston Crown Court, where Wu will appear on August 28 to enter formal pleas. The allegations were reported to the Met in June 2022, prompting an investigation. The officer has been suspended from duty and granted conditional bail.
