A Metropolitan Police inspector has been charged with two counts of rape and one of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Inspector Jason Wu, who works in the force's detention section based in Colindale, north-west London, is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Alleged offences

The charges relate to alleged offences committed against a woman in August 2019 and October 2021. The allegations were reported to the Met in June 2022.

Suspension and charging

Wu, who has been suspended from duty, was charged via postal requisition on May 15.
