A man has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing hard drives containing unreleased Beyoncé music. Kelvin Evans appeared in an Atlanta court on Tuesday, where he accepted a five-year sentence with two years to be served in custody.
Evans was arrested in September 2025 in connection with a July car robbery in Atlanta. Two suitcases containing Beyoncé music and tour plans were stolen from a rental vehicle. The stolen hard drives contained watermarked music, some unreleased, as well as footage plans and set lists for the Cowboy Carter tour.
The theft occurred before Beyoncé's Atlanta tour dates. Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue reported the incident to police, stating that clothing, designer sunglasses, laptops and AirPods were also taken. Police tracked one of the stolen laptops and the AirPods to locate the property, leading to Evans' arrest.
As part of his probation terms, Evans must avoid the location of the theft and refrain from contacting the victim. It remains unclear whether the stolen property has been recovered. Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter tour was the highest-grossing tour of 2025, earning over $407 million.
