Bartolmeij Okoniewski, 30, of Edinburgh Court, Ellesmere Port, was jailed for 11 months at Chester Crown Court on Monday, August 3, after breaching a non-molestation order. The order, issued in August 2025, was meant to prevent him from contacting his ex-partner, but he repeatedly called and texted her, leading to his arrest.
Breach of order
Okoniewski had been handed the order following several incidents, including sending over 100 text messages to his ex-partner in just six days. The order was set to remain in place until August 2026.
On October 28, Okoniewski called the victim from a withheld number. She answered and recognized his voice. Further calls from withheld numbers were made that day, which she did not answer, and two more calls were made the following day.
Arrest and evidence
On October 31, the victim was contacted by another number she knew belonged to Okoniewski. The messages continued into November. The victim recognized the texts as his due to specific phrases and spelling mistakes.
Okoniewski was arrested on November 23. Following his arrest, Cheshire Police officers called the number that had been repeatedly contacting the victim, and Okoniewski's phone lit up as it received the call.
Court outcome
In interview, Okoniewski provided a prepared statement claiming he had been "stitched up" and that he was the one bombarded with calls and messages. He maintained his innocence until changing his plea in court.
The lead investigating officer said: "Bartolmeij Okoniewski's onslaught of communication left the victim in this case with a constant feeling of anxiety that seriously impacted her day-to-day life. She feared that he could be around any corner and that she could bump into him at any moment."
The officer added: "We take all reports of this nature extremely seriously and our dedicated officers do all they can to ensure victims get the justice and closure they need to go about their daily lives unencumbered, placing their needs at the very heart of all investigations. Let this sentencing be a warning to anyone else engaging in any similar behaviour, we will take action against you and you will face the full extent of the law."
