A 37-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a cyclist was struck by a BMW in Aberdeen. The incident happened on Rousay Drive at around 6pm on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Incident details
Police Scotland said a white BMW had travelled from Lang Stracht before hitting a 19-year-old cyclist. The teenager later attended hospital for treatment.
The road, near to a Tesco superstore at the junction of both streets, was closed for a period while officers carried out enquiries at the scene.
Court appearance and appeal
The 37-year-old is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, September 28. Sergeant Scott Cooper said officers were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Sergeant Cooper said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries following this incident and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area around this time to contact us with any information. In addition, any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage is asked to come forward as this may be able to assist.”
