A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing in Glasgow left four people injured.
Incident on Sauchiehall Street
Police were called to a disturbance on Sauchiehall Street at 1.35am on Sunday, August 2. Officers found three men and one woman with injuries. They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Their current conditions are unknown.
Arrest and court appearance
The man has been arrested and charged. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, August 12. Inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
Images from the scene showed police officers standing guard behind a cordon. An area of the busy street was taped off outside the pubs Berlinky's and Firewater.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder, serious assault and assault, following a disturbance in Glasgow city centre on Sunday, 2 August, 2026. Around 1.35am, officers were called to Sauchiehall Street. Three men and one woman were taken to The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment."
The spokesperson added: "The 20-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 12 August, 2026. Inquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
