Man charged in Glasgow murder probe after Parkhead death

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Paul McMinigal, who was found seriously injured in a block of flats in Glasgow last month.

Incident Details

Emergency crews were called to Burgher Street in Parkhead at around 3pm on Friday, July 24, after the alarm was raised. The 44-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland previously said they were treating the death as murder and launched a major investigation. A police presence remained in the area for a number of days following the incident.

Arrest and Court Appearance

Two weeks on, the force has confirmed the arrest. The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 10.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Paul McMinigal in Glasgow. The 44-year-old was found with serious injuries within the close of a block of flats on Burgher Street around 3pm on Friday, July 24.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the 25-year-old is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 10."
