A man has appeared in court accused of stealing a Patek Philippe watch worth £100,000 from a film actor.
Rachid Bouchibne, 27, is charged with robbing Alexander Johnson of the watch on June 10 2024 in Westminster, London.
British actor and producer Mr Johnson, 39, has appeared in films including Ms Stewart's The Chronology of Water and the political thriller, The Wizard of the Kremlin, alongside Jude Law and Paul Dano.
Court appearance
Wearing a white T-shirt with a cream overshirt, Bouchibne spoke to confirm his name, address, and date of birth at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Mr Johnson previously told the Mirror that the watch was a Patek Philippe Aquanaut.
No pleas were entered at the brief hearing and no further details about the watch or alleged robbery were mentioned in court.
Next hearing
Bouchibne, of Allison Road, Hornsey, North London, was bailed and will next appear at Southwark Crown Court on September 7 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Magistrate Alan Elias said Bouchibne was accused of a “serious charge” involving the taking of an item of “significant high value”.
He told Bouchibne: “It's indictable only, we can't deal with it today and must send your matter to the crown court.
“Your next hearing will be at Southwark Crown Court on September 7.”
