Man, 21, charged with GBH after woman stabbed in County Durham

A 21-year-old man has been charged with GBH in relation to an alleged stabbing in County Durham. Cameron Green, of Pelton, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 8.

Charge and arrest

Green has been charged with causing GBH with intent. He was arrested on the evening of August 6.

The charge follows a reported stabbing at a property in Alder Close. On the evening of August 6, Durham Constabulary and the North East Ambulance Service were called to the scene, where a woman was found with a stab wound to her back at around 9pm.

Police response

At the time, police said the incident was believed to be an isolated one with no wider risk to the public. The ambulance service and the Great North Air Ambulance Service attended the scene and provided treatment to the victim, who was taken to hospital.

Next court appearance

Green has been remanded in custody and will appear at Durham Crown Court on September 4.
