M67 closed after suspected human remains found

Part of the M67 has been closed after suspected human remains were found close to the motorway. Greater Manchester Police says it was called out by road workers shortly after 11pm last night (August 3).

Discovery near bridge

The workers made the discovery close to a bridge between junctions three at Hyde and four at Hattersley. Detectives have since said that they believe the discovery to be suspected human remains.

A full closure was put in place between junctions three and four in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday). The eastbound carriageway remains closed, with the westbound side opening at around 9am.
