After the Mirror's three-year investigation into the crime, the new development is welcomed, whatever it uncovers. The original investigation was one of the biggest ever undertaken by the Met, yet despite thousands of hours of work by dozens of officers, the wrong man was caught and convicted.
Hope for justice and closure
After so long, many didn't dare hope a fresh breakthrough with new evidence would be possible. What everyone desperately hopes for is that which has been denied for 27 long years - justice for Jill.
