A family has paid tribute to a young mother whose death is being treated as unexplained. Hannah Fry, 29, became unwell at an address on Meadow Croft in Longridge while police officers were present on July 13. She was taken to hospital but pronounced dead.
Police investigation and arrests
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Hannah's death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries into what led to it are ongoing." A 31-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of coercive and controlling behaviour and later further arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. He has been bailed with conditions. A 23-year-old man was arrested in relation to the initial offence that prompted police attendance on July 13. He has also been bailed. The force confirmed a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and said it would be inappropriate to comment further.
Family's tribute
Hannah's parents, Kevin and Sarah Harcup, said: "We are devastated to announce the tragic and sudden passing of our beloved daughter, Hannah Eidann Fry, on Monday, 13th July. Hannah was our beautiful and only daughter, the light of our lives and the love in our hearts and souls." They described her as a devoted mother to her two daughters, a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, and loyal friend. "She will always be remembered for her madcap sense of humour, her infectious laugh, and her ability to light up every room she entered." They added: "Her middle name, Eidann, means Gift from God, and she truly was the greatest gift we could ever have received."
