Family 'broken' after dad found dead in Truro car park

Ben Gough, 41, was found dead in a car park in Truro, Cornwall, prompting an investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police. His sister, Leanne Gough, said the discovery has "broken our family" and that they will "never recover" from their loss.

Emergency services were called to Moorfield Car Park in Calenick Street, Truro, at around 10.45am on Monday, August 17. The body of Ben Gough was discovered at the scene.

Police investigation and arrest

Devon and Cornwall Police are probing the "unexplained" death, with significant enquiries ongoing to establish what happened. The force said a 44-year-old man from Truro was arrested on suspicion of assault, grievous bodily harm, administering a noxious substance, and theft.

Family tribute

Ben's sister, Leanne Gough, said their family has "nothing but love" for him, reports Cornwall Live. "Ben was loved by all of his family more than he can ever imagine," she said. "Losing him has broken our family and we will never recover from this. People may have certain views on Ben but his family know the real Ben and he had nothing but love in him."
