Career and Legacy
Karen played the recurring role of Aunt Sal, sister of Peggy Mitchell (played by Barbara Windsor), from 1996 to 2017. Although not a permanent cast member, she appeared regularly for over a decade, making her a familiar face to viewers. She also starred in the 1970s sitcom On the Buses and appeared in several British films.
The Fire Incident
The fire broke out around 10:30 pm on the ground floor of a terraced house on Windsor Road, Ilford. Firefighters arrived and battled the blaze for less than an hour, but Karen was already dead. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the circumstances were not suspicious.

Neighbor Accounts
Neighbors raised the alarm after seeing smoke from Karen's front door. Sivalai Pavananthakumar told MailOnline: "I recognised her and would see her every day when I took my children to school. She was a nice old lady and always said hello." Police and fire brigade arrived quickly and kicked down the smoke-filled door.
