Daniel Kinahan, 49, has been remanded in custody after appearing before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin charged with directing an organised crime group. The charge follows his arrest in April in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of the Dublin boxing promoter, who is an alleged leader of the Kinahan organised crime group.
Extradition and arrival in Dublin
Kinahan was flown on a £39 million government jet belonging to the Irish Air Corps from Dubai to Ireland today, where he was arrested after touching down at Dublin's Baldonnel Airport at around 7.20pm. He was then whisked under armed guard from both law enforcement and the Irish Defence Forces to a special Sunday hearing at the Special Criminal Court.
