CCTV Captures Last Moments of Woman Before Alleged Double Killer
CCTV Captures Last Moments of Woman with Alleged Killer

CCTV footage captured the final moments a woman was seen alive before she disappeared behind a wall with an alleged double killer, a court has heard.

Simon Levy, 40, was captured on CCTV walking behind a wall in a B&M car park in High Road, Tottenham, with Sheryl Wilkins, 39, on August 24 last year, the Old Bailey heard on Tuesday. Ms Wilkins was never seen alive again.

Last Sightings and Alleged Murder

Earlier CCTV footage showed the moment Ms Wilkins' path crossed with Levy as he got off a 149 bus and followed her as she walked past the bus stop. Ms Wilkins is seen wearing a crop top, while Levy walks with his hood up moments before they stop outside the B&M car park. She is last seen alive shortly before 1am as she walks out of view of the cameras.

Prosecutors allege Levy then smothered her in a sexually motivated murder, which he denies. Around 45 minutes after Ms Wilkins was last seen, Levy is shown putting his hood up and re-emerging wearing sunglasses, which he uses because he is partially sighted. He walks to the pavement, looks around, returns behind the wall, and later emerges again before walking home to nearby Beaufoy Road around 2am.

Discovery of the Body

During the time the alleged murder is said to have taken place, several cars turned around in the car park, and an unidentified man walked behind the wall, but Ms Wilkins remained undiscovered. At around 6.30am that morning, two police officers in an unmarked car arrived and found her body. The jury was shown graphic footage of the discovery.

Boray Is, driving a grey BMW, was captured on CCTV making a U-turn in the car park at 1.45am. He told jurors he had dropped his mother at the airport and was heading to his uncle's home in Enfield. Asked what he saw behind the wall, Mr Is said: 'I saw a male on the floor. I thought he was homeless because he was sitting down and there was something underneath him. He was on his left looking towards the wall not directly towards me.' He described the man as wearing a grey hoodie and jeans, with his pants down, and only saw his forehead.

Qathar Ali, whose Mercedes was captured driving around the car park at 1.37am, told the court he saw a black man kneeling and then lying on his left side. He said the area was used by people to have sex but he was not allowed to move anyone on.

Allegations of Serial Predation

Levy is accused of murdering both Ms Wilkins and another woman, Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, 53, in similar circumstances five months apart last year. Prosecutors claim he is a serial predator who agreed to pay the women for sexual activity before killing them, which he denies. Levy is also accused of raping a third woman in January last year and has previous convictions for sexual assault, six of which occurred in the same time period.

The court has already been told that the officers who found Ms Wilkins' body initially thought it may be the alleged victim of the January rape, which allegedly took place behind the same wall where she was found. The trial continues.
