British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault on a London Underground train in south London left a man requiring surgery.
The incident occurred on a Victoria line service between Stockwell and Vauxhall at around 11.10am on July 10. The victim was repeatedly kicked in his legs, stomach, and arms.
Suspect description
The suspect is described as South Asian, in his mid-to-late twenties, approximately six feet tall, with a medium build and a full black beard. At the time, he was wearing a black baseball hat, a blue t-shirt, black shorts, and carrying a black backpack and sling bag. He was accompanied by a woman.
Police appeal
BTP Constable Robert Jeavons said: “This appears to have been an entirely unprovoked attack on a man who was just going about his day. The injuries he sustained were so serious that he required surgery on his leg.
“There were a number of people inside the carriage at the time of the assault, some of whom thankfully intervened. If that was you or you saw what happened, please get in touch with us by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 166 of 10 July.”
