Love Island star Adam Collard's father, William Collard, was due to stand trial on Friday accused of assaulting his son, but the case was adjourned due to court time constraints.
William Collard, known as Billy, allegedly assaulted the reality TV star during a dispute over a property. The 56-year-old, who lives on a farm in Horsley, Northumberland, allegedly grabbed Adam, ripped his shirt, and left reddening to his neck. He denies the offence of assault by beating.
Court appearance
William Collard arrived at Newcastle Magistrates' Court wearing a blue shirt. Adam Collard, 30, who appeared on Love Island in 2018, was also spotted arriving separately with his pregnant fiancée, ITV sports presenter Laura Woods.
The trial was delayed for two hours before staff confirmed it could not go ahead due to lack of court time. William Collard will return to court for his trial on November 27.
Alleged incident
Chronicle Live previously reported that William Collard allegedly assaulted Adam after they argued over the ownership of a cottage. The court heard that Adam is the registered owner of one of the cottages on his father's land, which Collard allegedly disputed. The alleged assault happened when Adam turned up at the property on September 5 last year.
