Adam Collard and his pregnant fiancée Laura Woods have arrived at Newcastle Magistrates Court, where his father stands trial for allegedly assaulting him.
Alleged incident at holiday cottage
Businessman William 'Billy' Collard, 56, denies a charge of assault by beating following an alleged row at a holiday cottage on his farm in Northumberland last year. The court heard the confrontation allegedly stemmed from a disagreement over who owned the cottage.
Prosecutors claim the former Love Island star, 30, attended the property with a police officer to change the locks, but found his father's car blocking the access road. An alleged argument broke out, leaving Adam with a ripped shirt and injured neck.
Family background
Adam, who is expecting his second child with sports presenter Laura Woods, 38, has previously described his father as 'the most inspiring and generous guy'. Billy is a well-known property developer in the North East with a property portfolio estimated to be worth millions.
Before Adam found fame on Love Island in 2018, he was expected to inherit millions from his father. The fitness influencer has also spoken about past disagreements, including being kicked out of the family home as a teenager for getting his first tattoo.
Previous conviction
In 2008, Billy admitted making a false statement to obtain income support, despite owning a substantial property portfolio. Newcastle Crown Court heard he wrongly received nearly £6,000 in benefits between 2003 and 2004. He was handed a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £2,000 in costs. Speaking about the conviction years later, Billy said he did not want his past to reflect on his son's career.
