British Transport Police have launched an investigation after a rucksack containing nearly £1,000 in cash was stolen from a train at King's Cross station. The incident occurred just after midday on Friday, June 5, when a passenger boarded a train and placed their rucksack in the luggage rack before taking their seat.
Details of the Theft
While the train was still stationary at the platform, a man boarded the carriage, grabbed the bag, and immediately disembarked. Inside the rucksack was approximately £1,000 in cash, a pair of Ray Ban Smart sunglasses valued at £300, a mobile phone worth £250, along with bank cards and other personal items. The theft was reported to British Transport Police, who have since released a CCTV image of a man they believe may hold information crucial to their investigation.
Police Appeal for Information
Officers are urging anyone who recognises the individual in the image to come forward. A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "We are keen to speak to this man as he may have information that could assist our inquiries. We would ask anyone who recognises him to contact us."
